Fitz Curry Cafe opened its doors in Fitzroy in 2001. From the beginning, it has been a true family business.
What started as a commitment to serving honest, authentic Indian food become something much bigger — a restaurant that has grown alongside our family and the Fitzroy community.
For 25 years, our family has worked together to keep Fitz Curry going. Brothers, wives, sons, daughters and younger members of the family have all contributed at different stages — in the kitchen, serving customers, helping with the business and supporting the restaurant behind the scenes.
Some of our younger family members were not even born when Fitz Curry first opened, but they have since grown up around the restaurant and become part of its story. That is something we are very proud of.
More Than a Restaurant
Fitz Curry has never been just a business to our family. For many years it has been a place where we have worked side by side, supported each other and shared many special moments.
Our customers have become part of that journey.
We have seen familiar faces come in as students, return with their families and celebrate many milestones with us.
Fitzroy has always been our home, and we are grateful that our customers continue to trust us with their dining, celebrations and everyday meals.

Fitzroy has always been our home, but our customers have come from across Melbourne for many years.
We regularly welcome customers from Fitzroy, Carlton, Carlton North, Collingwood, Clifton Hill, Brunswick East, Northcote, Melbourne CBD and surrounding suburbs.
